Over the years of making outdoor advertising screens, we have often been asked the same question by operators: "Can this machine be used?" As more people asked, we gradually realized that for outdoor digital signage, operators' deepest anxiety has never been "how amazing the display effect is", but "will it be able to withstand it three years later?" After all, things placed outdoors are exposed to wind and sun, high temperatures and cold temperatures, and human bumps, all of which are real tests.

Daylight readability and stable hot-weather operation are two essential performance goals.
There is a contradiction in outdoor screens: the higher the brightness, the greater the heat; the greater the heat, the shorter the life. When choosing a screen, many operators only look at the brightness parameters and ignore the heat dissipation design.
As a result, in the summer, frequency reduction protection occurs frequently, the screen becomes darker, and the screen goes black in severe cases. ZXTLCD's approach is more pragmatic - since we want to solve this problem, we should focus on both the source and the process. The source is the screen itself. The design uses an industrial-grade LCD panel with a direct LED backlight with a brightness of 2500nits. What does this number mean?
Under direct sunlight at noon, the picture is still clear and sharp, and pedestrians do not need to cover the light with their hands to identify the content on the screen. Combined with 5mm ultra-white high-transparency tempered glass, High-transparency protective glass helps preserve useful screen brightness while protecting the panel. The intake and exhaust paths of fan-cooled outdoor digital signage should remain separated.

But as the brightness goes up, will the heat dissipation keep up? This is where the outdoor digital signage’s skills are most tested.
ZXTLCD does not blindly pursue high-power air conditioning solutions - although air conditioners have high heat dissipation efficiency, the failure rate, energy consumption and maintenance costs of compressors in outdoor environments are all real problems. We chose an industrial-grade intelligent air cooling solution. Through precise air duct design, cold air accurately flows through the heating core area and quickly takes the heat out of the box. This system is equipped with intelligent temperature control and speed regulation. When the temperature is low, the fan runs at a low speed to save power.
When the temperature is high, the fan automatically reaches full speed to ensure heat dissipation. It does not waste energy and ensures that the equipment does not drop the chain 24 hours a day in a temperature range of -20°C to 60°C. After all, if an outdoor screen cannot withstand the summer and cannot be seen clearly during the day, it will be useless no matter how many fancy functions it has. This is the first problem we solve when we make products. Filters in fan-cooled outdoor digital signage require inspection according to local dust conditions.
From IP65 to IK10, supporting long-term outdoor operation
There are many details in the parameter sheet that are easily overlooked by operators but are crucial to us. For example, IP65 waterproof and dustproof. Many people think that outdoor screens are waterproof as long as they are "rainproof", but in actual outdoor environments, condensation caused by dust, moisture, and temperature differences can corrode the internal circuit boards far more fatally than a heavy rain. The complete shell of ZXTLCD is a combination of aluminum profiles and SGCC galvanized steel plates. Its structural strength and corrosion resistance have been verified in the field for a long time. IP65 means that the whole machine is completely dustproof and can withstand low-pressure water spray - whether it is humid salt spray at the seaside or dust on city roads, it cannot enter the inside of the box. Fan speed control can balance temperature and noise in fan-cooled outdoor digital signage.

Another example is the IK10 anti-riot level. This parameter is not common in the specifications of digital signage displays, because to achieve this level, there are very high requirements for the thickness of the glass, tempering process, and installation structure. We insist on using 5mm ultra-white high-transmission tempered glass, not only for light transmittance, but also for impact resistance. In outdoor public places, no one can predict accidents such as man-made collisions, malicious smashing, hail, etc. The maintenance costs and operation interruption losses caused by a fragile screen are far greater than the cost saved in the original selection of materials. Service teams should verify airflow after repairing fan-cooled outdoor digital signage.
And those invisible details. For example, the optional 300W heater - many operators think it is not useful, but the equipment is sold in cold areas, where temperatures of minus 20 to 30 degrees are the norm in winter. The liquid crystal molecules will become dull at extremely low temperatures, causing the screen to smear or even freeze directly. The function of the heater is to automatically start when the temperature is lower than the set value to "warm up" the screen, ensuring that it can be used in any climate without the need for manual on-site special treatment. These investments may be a cold "IP65", "IK10" or "300W" on the parameter list, but we know very well internally that behind each item is a consideration of the user's long-term use cost.

outdoor digital signage has characteristics:
Almost no two projects are exactly the same. The needs of bus stops are different from those of scenic tour guides, and the needs of commercial streets and smart communities are also different.
If you only make one standardized product to cover all scenarios, operators will definitely not find it easy to use it. Therefore, we made this product into a "platform-type" hardware base. The core display and cooling system are sufficiently solid, leaving room for flexible options.
At the system level, operators can choose Android or Windows motherboards according to the software ecosystem; at the network level, RJ45 wired, WiFi, and 4G are all supported, and venues without network cabling can be independently connected to the Internet; at the interactive level, those who need touch control can add G+F nano touch screens, those who need passenger flow analysis can add 500W pixel cameras, and those who need remote unified management can access our Xinfa platform.
Dimensions are the same. In addition to the 55-inch display, if your installation space is limited, the 43-inch display is a more compact option; if you are looking for a larger display area, the 65-inch display can also satisfy the need. The same product line, three sizes, the same underlying quality, just matching according to different scenarios. The advantage of this approach is that operators do not need to buy a bunch of unused configurations for a certain function, nor do they need to compromise on the installation location to fit the size. To be honest, there are no shortcuts in the outdoor digital signage industry. After each piece of equipment is delivered, it faces real exposure to the sun, rain, and four seasons.
